Now that spring has officially arrived, so has everyone’s itch for outdoor drinks and eats. Fortunately, many Lakeview bars and restaurants are beginning to set up their patio seating. If you want to bring Fido along with you for a visit, these venues will welcome him either at your table or on the nearby sidewalk.

We’re dog obsessed, so dog lovers bring your furry friend here:

Fido is welcome to join you at the table.

Uncommon Ground – 3800 N. Clark St.

Initially a coffee shop, this local neighborhood venue has evolved into a place for everyone: It’s an all-day stop for locally-produced food, Internet surfing and drinks. You’ll find plenty of outdoor seating on the Grace Ave. side.

Frasca -3358 N. Paulina St.

This pizzeria and wine bar has outdoor seating on two sides of the restaurant (Roscoe and Paulina), an array of appetizers, gourmet pizzas, pastas, Italian wines and a weekend brunch with bloody marys and mimosas.

Johnny O’Hagan’s Irish Pub and Restaurant – 3374 N. Clark St.

This authentic Irish pub has traditional Emerald Isle fare and beverages served throughout the day. If you’re out walking your dog, take a break and enjoy the outdoor seating on the Roscoe St. side.

Southport Lanes- 3325 N. Southport Ave.

Not only does it have great food and a standout craft beer list, Southport Lanes’ liberal dog policy lets Fido sit with you either on the sunny, warm Southport Ave side or on quiet Nelson St.

Schoolyard Tavern- 3258 N. Southport Ave.

This neighborhood tavern has quality bar food and specials to enjoy at its outdoor seating on School St. Other than when it’s very crowded, feel free to let your dog sit at your feet.

Bring your furry friend but there’s no tableside seating:

Bring Fido along, but he’ll have to sit separately on the sidewalk.

Cullen’s Bar and Grill – 3741 N. Southport Ave.

This popular pub and restaurant has tasty Irish fare and drink selections with a small outdoor patio on Southport Ave.

El Tapatio – 3400 N. Ashland Ave

This neighborhood joint offers good, inexpensive Mexican food and margaritas on its small, shady seating area on tree-lined Roscoe St.

Wishbone – 3300 N. Lincoln Ave

Southern, home-cooked fare served all day on the North Side?  Wishbone’s got it, along with a nice outdoor area on Roscoe St. for you and your dog.

Harmony Grill– 3159 N. Southport Ave.

Attached to Schubas, you’ll find outdoor seating on sunny Southport Ave. Enjoy the homestyle menu and a solid weekend brunch.

Rise Sushi and Sake Lounge – 3401 N. Southport Ave.

This upscale sushi joint has a small outdoor section on its Roscoe St. side, offering a relaxing place to enjoy some Asian fare and cocktails with your dog.

Note: Some venues will be friendlier to your dogs than others depending on the type of permit they have for outdoor seating. Please respect their limitations and if your venue of choice isn’t as friendly as you’d like, check out another nearby option.

Here’s additional dog-friendly venues in the Lakeview area:

Cody’s Public House (1658 W. Barry Ave.), Coobah (3423 N. Southport Ave.), Rockit Bar and Grill (3700 N. Clark St), and Deleece (4004 N.  Southport Ave.)
