Great news for pet owners who live in West Lakeview (or whose pooches are OK with a longer walk). You’ll soon be able to take your pup to a special dog-friendly cafe, it seems. From the Roscoe View Journal:
In last night’s monthly meeting members of West Lakeview Neighbors (WLVN) unanimously voted to endorse a licence proposals by El Tapatio, 3400 N. Ashland Ave. to create Chicago’s first “dog-friendly” cafe.
The license designation specifies, “a dining area of a retail food establishment that is located outside, accessible from the street, and includes all sides of any gate, fence or other border demarking the dog-friendly area.”
According to restaurant owner Jose Parra, El Tapatio’s licence application includes extending the existing outdoor patio area by adding seven additional seating areas for up to 16 more diners and two sets of water bowls for visting dogs.
